How sweet I roam'd from field to field, And tasted all the summer's pride, 'Till I the prince of love beheld, Who in the sunny beams did glide! He shew'd me lilies for my hair, And blushing roses for my brow; He led me through his gardens fair, Where all his golden pleasures grow. With sweet May dews my wings were wet, And Phoebus fir'd my vocal rage; He caught me in his silken net, And shut me in his golden cage. He loves to sit and hear me sing, Then, laughing, sports and plays with me; Then stretches out my golden wing, And mocks my loss of liberty. -William Blake

Tell me, will you wear my diadem of roses? The gems upon your veil make you shimmer like a star-- Even in the way you turn away, Burning like a flame, your name. Dance with me tonight, down in the moonlight, Water in the wine, your nightmare with mine, We can feel the pain, the same, We can go insane, the same, The same... Why do you walk away so fast when I call your name? Alas! I wait in vain for the day when you call my name, call my name At last, For you always fly away so fast from me, so silently, I did not know that you had left til you were gone I did not know I was alone Now I'm just ripping myself apart, To free the Angel in my heart, I'm just burning myself alive, To see her dancing one more time, Oh Here she comes! Robed in white, She, descending from the stars-- Or am I just jerking myself off, In a dollhouse In the dark? Teach me how to dance, lead me to the lighthouse, Climb the silver stair, between the double-blue, Laughing like two mermaids of the moon, Believing we could always be this free... Ride with me tonight, my chariot of velvet, Eyes behind your hands like lilies in the sand, I can show you where the diamonds grow, Daughter of the Sun, Bride of Shadow, Bride of Shadow...

We dance within what could have been Upon a floor of polished jade-- Apparitions who believe themselves alive, Shadows singing in the shade A haunted moon begins to grin Over the hills behind your eyes, Our haunted star, I saw it fall, Into the ocean of lost time, Into the ocean of lost time. Counting wishes in the raindrops, Upon a windshield in the rain, Counting wishes in the raindrops, Windshield wipe them all away. We drink the wine that never was, Knock back an empty silver cup-- Fools partaking in the banquet of the elves Never seem to get enough. The haunted violin begins Another melancholy tune, My haunted heart can't help but break Beneath the madness of the moon, Beneath the madness of this moon. Rambling roses line the railroad, In the morning in the rain, She blew me kisses from the window, From the window of the train. Now I'm Counting wishes in the raindrops Upon a windshield in the rain, Counting wishes in the raindrops, Windshield wipe them all away. We linger til the lanterns dim, And every drunkard falls asleep. We strain our souls to hear the whisper of the Rose, Soft as a thought upon the breeze, Softer than a thought upon the breeze. She whispers to me in a language That I can almost understand. Silver feathers in the water, Winged shadows in the sand... Counting wishes in the raindrops, Upon a windshield in the rain, Counting wishes in the raindrops, Windshield wipe them all away.

Nectarine 04:41
Oh my Nectarine, My lovely Nectarine, Do wait for me, and I will wait for thee, High up in a tree, Soft and golden as a tapestry, Within my fantasy... I'm patient as a mantis with her hands rubbing together, There's a music in the stillness, the death-metal of cicadas, and the nightingale forever... On that Halloween, Was I a goblin, or a beauty queen? I do not recall. On that Halloween, She wore a wreathe of faded ivy leaf, The color of Nectarine. Behind the boarded doorway of the house we said was haunted Waits a widow at the window like a statue of a shadow, A shadow of a Rose. You don't know me, but I know you... You're probably Drinking wine of plums beneath anever setting sun, what fun! Though, I am years away, I sing to you this song, my Nectarine, Poor as the day is long, But it's the best I've got. So when you're feeling lonely, on the off chance you think of me, and The people who surround you, people who don't understand you, I'll be waiting in the dream... That dress upon your bones Looks very nice, though you despise it so, I cannot help but stare. Oh my Nectarine, My Nectarine, I had a lovely dream-- The sadness wasn't there, For closer than you reckon lies the Isle of the Apples, Though the way be long forgotten, we shall stumble through the entrance, Like a lullaby remembered You will know me, as I know you.

Lady, Thank you for this beauty, Thank you for your sadness, too, Twilight trembles in the Fountain, Moonbeams trickle down the mountain. And I can feel a distant laughter growing, Even as my Angel flies away, Her feathers fall like shadows of pure silver, Unicorns run through the shallow water. Yeah, I can feel a secret flower blooming, Even as my garden burns away, Her petals fall like shadows of pure silver, Unicorns run through the shallow water. I was no knight, I was no champion. I was godless as a guitar never played, I never prayed, I prayed the wrong way, I was empty from a feast of fairy food, My soul askew, Until I saw you, Bright as day, In a gloomy kind of way, Hear my psalm-- gratification, Take my song, My lamentation away... Lady, Thank you for the Nightmare, Thank you for the morning Light, As devils get wasted on my teardrops, My eyes to the Angels ever turning, 'Cause I can always feel a candle burning, Within the shadows of our soul, That's why I'm crying, Trying to remember, The waterfalls and Angelwings of Amber. Yeah, I can always feel a siren singing, Within the ocean of our soul, That's why I'm crying, Trying to remember, The unicorns running through the shallow water. Upon the stage, Upon the altar, There is blood upon my mouth, But it ain't mine, Give me a sign, Show me a good time, I see the smile on your face, But is it real? What do you feel? How do you really feel today-- Any better than yesterday? Beyond the grave, there is a Garden, It never fades, but babe, You gotta wait a little while, All is just a little while, Then we'll be in the Garden by the Sea, Gratification, My lamentation Away.

I took me a lookin' To pluck for you a Rose, But I lost track of time, Til all I found was dirty snow, The Roses had all withered, As if centuries ago, Your doorway was in crumbles, Like nobody'd been home, For each uncounted year, That I had been away, Seeking out the perfect Rose, To give to you today. Too long did I wander, Too long did I wait, To wait for the right time was a mistake. I crept through the graveyard, To steal for you a stone, A guarded by a ghostly maiden, Dead so long ago, I broke the coffin open, Stuck my hand into the corpse, But when I touched the Gem, The wind went howling with a curse, And darling I was weak-- A coward to the bone, Retreating, empty handed In the moonlight, Home. Darling please forgive me, For I have nothing to give, So leave me if you want the chance to live. Now I am as lonesome, As a willow in a city square, All I did I did for you, Except for being there. For Roses, for rubies, I guess you never cared, I got home after midnight, I filled the empty air, With the sound of your name, As the Daughters of shame, Cackled in the darkness Til the dawn came
