I'd like to catalog your whispers,
In my library of twilight,
Between erotic letters from Atlantis,
The suicide note of a goddess.
I'd like to document your silence,
Cut it on a ring of vinyl,
Listen to it every midnight,
As the moon mockingly smiles,
At every failure I call a triumph,
At every weed I call a rose,
You and the moon, my precious darling,
Are the only ones who know,
I ain't all that tough,
But even so my love, don't go--
Eternity alone seems awful rough...
Forever isn't long enough,
Forever isn't long enough,
I don't think that I am strong enough,
To go there on my own.
Won't you walk with me through my garden?
Where every statue has a soul,
Don't their pain look oh so elegant,
Among the ivy and the rose?
All thought they could be Medusa's lover,
That they were different than the rest,
all now crumble in my garden--
Will you pass my final test?
As you lean against the baluster,
You let fall a perfumed tear,
Into the calyx of a blossom,
As I whisper in your ear...
Do you have the stuff?
I need a lover I can trust,
So, will you sign your name in blood?
Forever isn't long enough,
Forever isn't long enough,
I don't think that I am strong enough,
To go there on my own.
Forever isn't long enough,
Forever isn't long enough,
Though every single star may turn to dust,
Forever isn't long...

Office Worm
04:08
|
|||
I ran away,
I sold my car,
I bought a saffron robe and dyed it black.
Now I walk the land,
As a crazy man,
Within my mind,
For in real time,
I'm just another lonely office worm,
I'm just another lonely office worm.
(OK, let's do it again)
A precious stone,
Set in a ring,
Upon a lovely sorceress' hand.
The ring engraved,
With my true name,
And when she holds it,
To the flame,
I fall upon the floor and scream in pain,
For though I'm just a lonely office worm,
I've got a soul in another age,
Where still my lovely sorceress awaits,
La dada dada da office worm.
La dada dada da office worm.
I called in sick the other day,
So me and my sorceress could play,
In the dirt, beneath the surface of the earth,
For after all, I'm just a lonely worm
La dada dada da office worm...

Our Love for Thee
03:40
|
|||
All around the city lamps a'lit,
As evening twirls her perfumed curls,
We three struggling but beautifully,
Attempting to get you to sleep,
Implore Orpheus or Morpheus,
For a lullaby somniferous,
When at last you shut your sapphire eyes,
We cry, we sigh, I drink my wine,
Long before the morning rears her head,
We hear your tears, it starts again,
Starts again...
Let our love for thee be like the string,
Of Ariadne guiding me,
Through twisted ways unknown and catacombs,
Far deeper than I've ever gone.
Let our love for thee be like an eagle's wings around you circling.
Let our love for thee be like a peony blooming eternally.
Let our love for thee be like a queen who granteth any boon you seek.
Let our love for thee become a deity blessing each breath you breathe.
Let our love for thee,
Our love for thee,
Our love for thee,
Be Everything!
Let our love for thee,
Our love for thee,
Our love for thee,
Be Everything.

Poetry to Me
02:22
|
|||
Two squirrels wound around a golden tree,
It's poetry to me, it's poetry to me,
I wander 'mong the stones of the cemetery,
Composing my poetry,
Til from the tomb of your family,
I hear your song,
Like a mermaid or a swan to me,
Calling, calling, calling me,
To your sepulchral balcony,
When I beheld you there,
There were seashells in your hair,
In the darkness glimmering,
You took me in your eyes of green,
You taught to me your name, Pauline,
You blessed me with a cursed key,
When you taught your name to me, Pauline,
Now I can't wake, nor can I sleep,
Since you taught your name to me Pauline,
No I can't wake, nor can I sleep,
Since you taught your name to me, Pauline,
Pauline.
I can't keep my gray from prancing,
For in my dreams I still see you dancing,
Graceful as a praying mantis,
You led me through endlessly lovely dances...
